After finishing 20᠆2᠆1 in the regular season (12᠆0 in the conference), CHS men’s soccer has advanced to the postseason playoffs as a two seed. The team finished first in their conference securing a home field advantage for at least the first four rounds.

The team competed in the first round at home on Tuesday night against Eastern Randolph. Goals from Reese Jahoo, Will Allen, Nick Visco and Loévan Bost as well as strong defensive performances from Sajan Lamba and Jonathan Osborne helped the team to a 5᠆0 victory.

According to various team members, head coach Jared Drexler has been emphasizing focused training as the team attempts to bring home their first ever State Championship.

“[Tuesday] went as expected, they had a few good players. But, you can’t go into playoff games thinking it’s going to be an easy win,” said Bryce Goodnight, senior goalkeeper.

Next up is a home match on Saturday versus Thomasville. The team expects to play a physical game against a strong attacking team. Be sure to show out to Carrboro High at 2:00 p.m., the theme is Antarctica. Remember that athletic passes are not valid for postseason games, cover charge is seven dollars.
