This week in sports

Every week the Jagwire will recap the sporting events from the past week. Check below to see the winners and scores from Tuesday, September 3 to Friday, September 6. 

Field hockey was scheduled to play at home on Tuesday versus Cape Fear Academy and away on Wednesday at Grimsley, but both games were cancelled due to inclement weather.

Women’s tennis beat Reidsville in a double header at home on Tuesday 5-0 in both matches. The team then lost 2-7 to the number one ranked team in the conference, NCSSM, on Wednesday. Their next match is home versus Bartlett Yancey on Wednesday, September 18.

Volleyball defeated Graham 3-0 on Tuesday. The team is now 5-1 overall and undefeated in conference play. The team team’s next game is away at Bartlett Yancey on Tuesday, September 10. 

Men’s soccer defeated Jordan Matthews on the road this Wednesday with a score of 7-1. The team plays again tonight at 6:45 p.m. at East Chapel Hill; be sure to show out to support the Jags in this rivalry matchup

Football won last Friday night in their first home game of the season in front of a full C-Town crowd. Come cheer them on tonight, Friday, September 6, at Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m.; the theme is purple out.
